Volunteers will be working alongside park staff to clear brush and tree limbs encroaching on the trail and\u00a0to help reduce fire fuels. Tasks may include operating weed eaters, stacking small limbs, raking, and pruning vegetation, depending on individual capabilities.<\/p>\n
Volunteers should park at the Valley of the Rogue State Park F Loop overflow parking lot and meet in the clearing near the vault toilet. A map is included for reference. \u00a0All volunteers will be provided with a parking pass on the morning of the event as well as a waiver.<\/p>\n
Volunteers should wear appropriate clothing, gloves, and footwear for the work and weather. We will have extra gloves available if needed. \u00a0Park staff will provide hand tools, but volunteers are welcome to bring their own if they prefer.<\/p>\n
Light snacks and refreshments will be available. \u00a0A vault toilet will be accessible from the work site. \u00a0The work area is within a short walking distance from the parking lot (see map below). \u00a0Dogs or other pets are not permitted.<\/p>\n

Rogue River Greenway Discovery Ride<\/h2>\n
The Rogue River Greenway Foundation is sponsoring a ride on Sunday, \u00a0April 26, 2026. \u00a0There are two routes. The first route begins at Palmerton ![\"RRG](\"http:\/\/roguerivergreenway.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/RRG_Discovery_Ride-e1774625711714-1024x525.png\")
Park in Rogue River and proceeds on the greenway to Gold Hill. \u00a0While in Gold Hill, a second group of riders, who will be riding the number two route, will join the group from Palmerton Park. \u00a0From Gold Hill, the combined group will ride the new planned route for the Gold Hill to Gold Ray segment of the Greenway.<\/p>\n
The Palmerton to Gold Ray route is 47 miles. Registered riders should be ready to leave Palmerton Park at 10 a.m. \u00a0Those riding the second 16-mile route will leave the Gold Hill Sports Park at approximately 11 a.m. \u00a0The Gold Hill to Gold Ray segment will feature scenic views of the Rogue River. \u00a0This section includes about 5 miles of gravel. \u00a0The ride is a casual ride and may average 8-12 MPH. \u00a0There will be SAG support for the ride. \u00a0Otherwise, riders will need to ensure they carry sufficient water and snacks for the ride.<\/p>\n
There is no ride registration fee<\/strong>. \u00a0Please pre-register for the ride. \u00a0The Foundation will be happy to accept donations. \u00a0Monies received will be used to support the development of Rogue River Greenway Foundation\u2019s bike path projects.
